I heard on "Science Friday" (NPR) that the bright star at sunset is Venus. They were really talking about some meteor showers that will be difficult to see this year because they occur on Full Moon, Dec. 15.
PS: I've never heard of "HTML tags". I guess I don't need them right now..

The spot in the picture is actually the moon. The camera phone doesn't do detail. I kinda like it really - it captures the 'feeling' of the scene without getting all clutterd up by the details.
And, your comment about time? It sure wasn't 2:59 PM when I posted that one; more like 4:59. So, some of the posts are CST, some are PST. I bet it depends if I'm posting from my phone - the messages from the phone are received in California - or from the website, where I am in CST.
