Enable and assign a Hotkey for OBS Replay Buffer

OBS has a great feature where it will keep the last so many seconds of gameplay in a buffer, and you can quickly save it to drive when a highlight comes along -- perfect for making shorts showing off your gameplay for Youtube or TikTok.  But how do you enable saving the replay buffer from a hotkey?  Simple - follow along!

First, enable the replay buffer in settings.  File - Settings - Output.  Make sure Advanced tab is selected, then the Replay subtab as such:

Next, you need a hotkey to save that clip to a file - choose 'Hotkeys' from the left menu and search for 'Replay'.  You will see three options for the Replay Buffer - start, stop and save.  Save is the one we want - assign a key combo that is easy to hit in your game (CTRL-SHIFT-9 or something perhaps)

Do note that the 'Save Replay Buffer' hotkey option will NOT be available until you have enabled replay buffer in the output settings for OBS.

And that should be it!  This applies to OBS Studio 30.2.3 (64 bit) Windows as of September 2024.
