Alec has a Cubscout campout this weekend, so of course Dad has to get a new toy. Think it'll fit one kid and one dad?

HTC Mogul Picture Rotation Hack
The Mogul by default sets the pictures to "Portrat" mode - longer than wide. Basically, if you take a photo like it seems like you should, the photo will be sideways.
To fix that, you need to edit the registry. I used PHM Registry Editor and it worked fine.
MUST HAVE FIX:
Camera doesn't flip the pictures right:
Got a fix (registry change):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\Image
Change "EnableEncodePortrait" to 0
Seems to work in my limited testing.
This, and lots more registry tweaks can be found at PPCGeeks.com forum.

IMAP on HTC Mogul
(and other Mobile Outlook devices)
Yes, you can setup IMAP mail on your Mogul, but Outlook Mobile isn't RFC compliant and does not let you set the mail folder prefix (like mail). It insists on using your UNIX home directory and trying to retrieve all the mail there. Heh. I have a 4+ GB home directory - the poor thing just died. Had to hard reset it.
So, I setup a brand new clean useraccount just for the Mogul to send IMAP mail -- kc0skw (at) mylanders.com. So, if you get a mail from that address, you know it came from my Mogul. Works fine.

will england :: STAR 2008 and Moonshine Ride Report: "Well, that was a nice week. Left Saturday, a bit later than planned, but still got out the door. Too much left undone, too many things to think about at home. Since I got the late start my original plan of finding lots of National Parks and camping went by the wayside."

Tales of the Hive: So you want to keep honeybeees? || kuro5hin.org: "The reasons for keeping bees are as widely varied as the people who keep them. Some do it for pollination. Some are fascinated by the insects and the society of bees. Others come lured by the promise of honey. Beekeeping is like a potluck stew - you can't just get one of these. Even the smallest hobby keeper gets a good dose of each in time."

Lunch line
the line was long, the weather cold and wet, but the cheeseburgers were some of the best I've had! Moonshine 2008.

Google, Garmin link up for GPS trip info | Crave : The gadget blog
Google, Garmin link up for GPS trip info | Crave : The gadget blog: "people using Google Maps to plan trips will be able to send location data to their Garmin GPS systems, the companies announced on Monday. The feature, called 'Send-to-Garmin', will eliminate the need to re-key route information into GPS devices."
